Bath, Somerset

The beautifully preserved city of Bath is the prime location for this glorious series. Its impressive Regency architecture saw the city double up as Mayfair for many of the events that take place in Bridgerton.

The iconic Royal Crescent famous for its curved row of 30 Grade I listed terraced houses and views of Royal Victoria Park are one of the main backdrops. Head to No. 1 Royal Crescent, now a museum that serves as the exterior to the notable Featherington family, whose three daughters struggled to find a match.

Lady Danbury’s estate is also in fact not found in upper-class London but in Sydney Gardens at the Holburne Museum boasting a beautiful pillared facade.

WHERE TO STAY:

Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa
Only a few doors down it serves up heritage chic with every room. Expect luscious fabrics, and beautiful period furniture with no compromise on mod cons for a truly luxurious stay. Don’t forget to pop into the Champagne lounge, we are emulating the Brigderton’s after all.

Wiltshire

The splendid Wilton House nestled in the hills of Wiltshire near Salisbury was seen in nearly every episode. Surrounded by 22 acres of parkland and garden, it has been the seat of the Earls of Pembroke since the 16th century.

Queen Charlotte’s throne room was the Single Cube room, one of the staterooms designed by Inigo Jones. The façade also doubled up as the Duke of Hastings’ residence. While a third of the house is still private, the rest of the palatial house is usually open to the public. Definitely worth a snoop.

Painshill Park in Surrey is one of the last remaining examples of an 18th-century English landscaped garden. The magnificent grounds were created by aristocrat the Hon. Charles Hamilton. The two Grand Tours Hamilton undertook in his younger years across Europe was the inspiration for his ‘living painting‘, the landscape we see today. The breathtaking vistas showcase everything from a Gothic tower to a ruined abbey via a vineyard.

In the series, it features as Primrose Hill and the family seat of the Featherington family. Easily recognisable by fans from the serpentine lake and Chinese-style bridge.

  1. What a wonderful round up Sima! I’d be happy doing a tour of all these personally! I can totally vouch for Wilson House as my Father in Law lived close to it and it’s stunning and not surprised they picked it for Bridgerton! Bring in the next series…

    • Would love to visit Wilton House, it’s on my summer hit list. I can’t wait for the next series either.
